  • Binance has declared a halt to its Binance Visa Debit Card services within the European Economic Area (EEA).
  • Binance Visa Debit Card EEA users can continue utilizing their physical or virtual cards without interruption until December 20, 2023, 00:00 (UTC+0).
  • Binance users impacted by these changes are urged to stay informed and adapt to the available alternatives to ensure uninterrupted access to cryptocurrency services.

Crypto Exchange giant Binance has declared a halt to its Binance Visa Debit Card services within the European Economic Area (EEA). Effective immediately, Binance users holding the Visa Debit Card under the EEA program have been informed that these services will cease. However, this development bears no impact on the core Binance accounts held by users.

The most crucial detail in this announcement is that existing holders of the Binance Visa Debit Card within the EEA can continue utilizing their physical or virtual cards without interruption until December 20, 2023, 00:00 (UTC+0). Post this deadline, any transactions using the Binance Visa Debit Card will no longer be possible.

A crucial aspect highlighted by Binance is the introduction of alternatives for users affected by this change. Binance Pay, a secure cryptocurrency payment technology developed by Binance, has been put forth as a viable option. Binance Pay enables users to engage in contactless and borderless payments using cryptocurrencies, presenting a seamless alternative to traditional card-based transactions.

For those with recurring purchases and subscriptions linked to their Binance Visa Debit Cards, Binance emphasizes the importance of updating payment information with respective merchants to prevent disruptions in services. Additionally, users who have misplaced their cards have until December 6, 2023, to order replacement cards. These replacements will allow continued spending from the Binance Card account until the closure of the Binance Visa Debit Card EEA program on December 20, 2023.

Crucially, Binance has assured users that cashback rewards for successful transactions will continue to be distributed without interruptions, ensuring that users still benefit from their transactions during this transition period.

This decision reflects Binance’s commitment to delivering a seamless user experience despite necessary changes in its service offerings. The company continues to explore innovative solutions to enhance the everyday use of cryptocurrencies.

Binance users impacted by these changes are urged to stay informed and adapt to the available alternatives to ensure uninterrupted access to cryptocurrency services. For any further inquiries or assistance, affected users are encouraged to reach out to Binance’s dedicated customer support.
